Ralph P. Anderson , 84, passed away on Wed. September 21, 2011 in Houston, TX. He was born in Poplar Bluff, MO to Davis and Tempy Anderson. Ralph loved his family and enjoyed extensive traveling with his wife Anna Belle all over the United States, visiting all 50 states & Canada with the WBCCI and Airstream International. He was the wagon master for numerous summer Airstream caravans to the International Rally. He was a Science teacher at Burbank Jr. High and Counselor at Pershing Jr. High and Lanier Jr. High in HISD. Ralph served as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday school teacher, and the Chairman of the property committee at his church. He was past Presidents of: Angelina Retired Teachers, Region 7 Retired Teachers, Lufkin Area AARP, Texas Gulf Coast Unit of WBCCI.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Anna Belle Anderson, and their daughter, Franchescia Skiles, her husband, Larry, two Grandchildren Ted Skiles and wife Kirsten & Elizabeth Gold and husband Rich, and six Great Grandchildren Duncan Skiles, Caitlin Gold, Audrey Gold, Elise Skiles, Collette Skiles, Zoe Gold, sister Bernadine Stacy, and a very large loving extended family.
Ralph graduated from high school in Williamsville Mo. He received his BS degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Mo, A Master of Education from the University of Houston, Houston Texas, a second Master of Arts in Teaching from Alabama College. He was a Naval Corpsman in WWII.
Visitation is Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway 77079, followed by interment at 3:30 P.M. The Memorial service will be on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Spring Branch Presbyterian Church 1215 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Laurie M. Murphy officiating.
