Raleigh Sanborn Williamson, a husband, father, and trusted friend to many, was born to Grady and Jane Williamson on the 4th of December 1948, in Houston, TX. He passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on the 27th November 2024. Raleigh was raised in Bay City, Texas, where he spent most of his time on the family ranch, tending to the cattle, mending fences, and raising his 4H calves.
After graduating from Bay City High School, he attended Trinity University before transferring to the University of Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. While at the University of Texas, he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He remained a dedicated Longhorn fan throughout his life.
On the 26th of April 1975, Raleigh married his college sweetheart, Connie Aikman.
Together, they raised two children, Lauren and Chad. As a family, they moved multiple times following Raleigh's management career. He started work with Brown and Root in Houston and then became a consultant for Reliance Consulting Group based in New York City. He later started his own consulting company, Williamson and Associates, Inc., and ended his career as an executive with WEST Engineering.
Raleigh was an active member of St Luke’s United Methodist Church and a devout Christian throughout his life, serving organizations such as CCSC, Emmaus, Jesus Alpha and Omega, and Habitat for Humanity. In his spare time, he enjoyed family vacations, traveling, skiing, playing golf and poker. His true passion was bridge, and he became a life master in his 20s.
Raleigh's life was a testament to his love of family, faith, friendship, bridge, golf and the Longhorns. Throughout his struggle with ALS, he always kept a positive attitude and gave a thumbs up to life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Jane Williamson, and his sister, Janie Williamson McCormick. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Lauren Price and Chad Williamson and, Chad's wife, Nikki; and his beloved grandchildren, Holden and Sawyer Price and Caroline Williamson.
A special thanks to the caregivers and the hospice team that provided the care and support he, as well as his family, needed.
