Rafael De Leon

Rafael DeLeon, age 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday afternoon, November 27, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home. Born September 17, 1946, in Alief, Texas. Rafael was a retired grocer but his favorite and memorable job was working on the ranch. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, buying new tools and drinking his Lone Star while listening to the radio. He taught us the importance and value of family. We loved him dearly and will cherish every memory we have of him.Rafael was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Josefina Guerra DeLeon, his parents Nicanor & Asuncion DeLeon, his brother Nicanor DeLeon. Rafael is survived by his loving daughters JoAnn DeLeon (Alfonso Barron), Janet DeLeon (Chris Rodriguez), Jennifer DeLeon, Sandra “Mi Prieta” (Tony) Ferrell. His brothers John (Margaret) DeLeon, Leo (Annie) DeLeon, Manuel DeLeon and sisters Janie (Jimmy) White and Helen Mireles. Thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.A Memorial service for Rafael DeLeon will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Mark Evangelist Catholic Church on 5430 W. Ridgecreek Dr., Houston, TX 77053. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery on 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael and Joseph Camario, Adam and Ray Leyva, Christopher and Christian Lopez.
