Rachel Cantu

Rachel Cantu “Mom” 76, very caring, loving and a devoted Mother and Wife passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. She was born in Sugarland, Tx and a lifelong resident of Houston, Tx and known for always cooking and her sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends and had a passion for cooking for the big holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas).

Rachel was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lucille and Arnulfo Navarro and sister Isabel Nieto. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alfonso and daughters Katherine, Aileen and husband Oscar, Connie, Christina and husband George; sons Alfonso and wife Helen, Aurelio and Frank. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Joseph, Rudy, Mason, Joshua and Michael and host of relatives and friends.

Words cannot express her kindness, generosity, integrity and character. We are so blessed and proud of the influence that she had on our lives. She is loved and will be dearly missed by so many.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, September 5, 2014 with a Celebration of her life at 7:00pm in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery.
