Quang Nhu Truong, known affectionately as Quang, passed away on April 13, 2024, in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Born on April 20, 1949, to Truong Nhu Thiem and Hoang Thi Cuc, Quang was a lifelong resident of Houston and a pillar of the Vietnamese community he so dearly loved.
Quang was a graduate of Gulf Coast State College, Panama City, Florida class of 1979. He moved to Houston, Texas after graduation and accepted a job with Xerox Corporation, where he dedicated nearly 30 years of services.
In 1975, Quang met his beloved wife, Bach Quang-Thi Nguyen, in Panama City, Florida. Together, they raised two children: Thomas Thu Nguyen and Tim Quang Nguyen.
Quang's hobbies were as rich and varied as his professional life. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, photographer and most importantly, a traveler/vacationer. His passion for fishing was more than a pastime, and he would always say “it's not the fish you catch, it's the peace of mind you take home at the end of the day.”
He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Thomas, as well as his beloved parents, Truong Nhu Thiem and Hoang Thi Cuc. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife Bach Quang; his son, Tim, his daughter-in-law, Thuy; his 6 grandchildren, Emily, Leah, Audrey, April, Nicolas, and Noah; his sisters, Thi Nhu Loan, Thi Thuong, and Thi Hanh; his many nieces and nephews; and his 2 great grandchildren, Charlotte and Ella.
A service to celebrate Quang's life will be held on April 24, 2024, at 4:00-8:00 pm at the Garden Oaks Funeral Home & Crematory and morning service on April 25th at 9:00-11:00 am, located at 13430 Bellaire, Houston, Texas. Following the service, Quang will be cremated on April 25, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, located at 2454 S. Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, Texas.
Quang Nhu Truong will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.
