Priscilla (Peggy) was born on December 22, 1942 in Cortland, New York. Her father was Edward McKendrick and her mother was Mary Alice Bush. She had three sisters and two brothers. Peggy graduated from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 1963 and married David Atwood on September 14, 1963. She and David had six children - Christopher, Richard, Kathleen, Jennifer, Michael and Joseph, and four grandchildren - Lilian, Kavik, Rowan and Liam.
Peggy worked as a nurse at Sloan -Kettering Hospital and Brooklyn Hospital while David went to graduate school. After moving to Houston in 1972, she worked as a nurse at St. Anne Elementary School, University of St. Thomas and Hermann Memorial Hospital.
She also did volunteer work with the 4th Ward Clinic, Pax Christi Texas, the Houston Peace and Justice Center, the Janitors Union, and the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.
Peggy loved animals and nature and enjoyed hiking in the mountains of Colorado.
She will be sorely missed.
