Pramod B. Mody

Pramod B. Mody of Houston, Texas passed away June 13, 2016 at the age of 72. Pramod was born on June 1, 1944 in Mumbai, India to parents Bhailal and Prabhavati Mody. He was the youngest of five children among Jayanti bhai, Kirti bhai, Harkisan bhai Mody and Rasila Vyas. He studied in India and received a degree in Civil Engineering. On November 18, 1972 he married Jayshree Shah and eventually moved to Houston and had 3 children, Megha, Dipa and Pranav. In 1980 at the age of 35, Pramod suffered a massive stroke that resulted in paralysis of the left side of his body. After that, he was unable to work or drive. Despite his health complications Pramod was a very jovial man who loved to make others laugh with his jokes and refreshing outlook on life. He loved spending time with his 5 grandchildren, Sameer, Suraj, Riya, Sahil, and Rishav. On the morning of June 13, 2016 he suffered from a massive heart attack. His son preformed CPR and he was taken to the emergency room where he later passed. Pramod B. Mody is survived by his wife, 3 children, 2 sons-in-law (Rajul and Satish), and 5 grandchildren. A celebration of his life and a chance to say goodbye will be held at Garden Oaks Crematory on June 25, 2016 at 9:00 AM. There is no dress code requirement, but family will be wearing light colored clothes. The family is grateful for the condolences and we welcome the gift of continued support and prayers.
