Ponciano lived out his childhood and part of his youth in Veracruz, Mexico. He then moved to Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico for work where he met Maria Guadalupe Sauceda. They later got married and had five children; Victor, Rogelio, Ana Maria, Rafael, and Lucia Guadalupe.
He was a strong and healthy hardworking man, even though he spent time out of town for work, he very much enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved baseball and watching the Houston Astros, as well as soccer, with his favorite soccer team being The Mexican Tigers. Because of his love for baseball, Ponciano often played baseball with his children as they were growing up. He was a caring and loving father and his eight grandchildren; Jonathan, Johana, Jacquelyn, Juliette, Uriel, Sofia, Matthew, and Marian.
He worked for many years in construction for oil refineries, and was always hardworking and responsible. He was a great example to his children and grandchildren of what it was to be a remarkable person, and all of his children are forever grateful to him and his wife for their hard work and being amazing role models. Thanks to them they showed their children what it takes to become hard-working people with faith in their religion and Our Father, Jesus Christ.
Ponciano lived in Houston for many years, and lived with Rogelio during his older years. Ponciano's family took excellent care of him, making sure he got to every single one of his appointments. He made sure his son Rogelio, daughter in law, and grandchildren knew just how grateful he was for them. His family remained by his side until Our Father Jesus Christ called him home.
Ponciano Santiago is now able to be with his beloved late wife, parents, and loved ones, waiting for his the rest of his family to join them in paradise. His children rest comfortably knowing that he is still with them and caring for them all the same. His children wish to carry on their parents teachings and continue on God's patch until they meet again. He will remain in their hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
