Phyllis B. Matheson was born May 6, 1919 to Blanche and Adolph Baluka in St. Louis Missouri. She attended William Woods University in Fulton, MO. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church followed by Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Memorial Forest Women’s Club, The Junior League of Houston, The Heather and Thistle Society and The En Amie Review Club.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lyman Matheson, son John Matheson and wife Karen (K.C.) of Houston, TX and granddaughter Alexis Matheson of Dallas, TX.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 1pm at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, TX 77042. A private interment will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
