Phyllis Katherine Allen

Phyllis Allen passed away on May 29, 2015 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 88. She was born and raised in Houston, where she graduated from Milby High School in 1945, and later attended business school. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper. Phyllis also performed as a child and young adult in various musicals, and loved horseback riding and barrel racing.

She was predeceased by her father, Clarence Karl Allen, her mother, Clara Mae Hightower Allen, and her beloved dog, Cutie. She is survived by her cousins, Grady and Maxine Allen, Kathryn Allen, Kenneth Roller, Christopher Roller, and John Larson, Jr.

The family and guardian would like to especially thank Dina Parker for her loving and compassionate care of Phyllis Allen for the past seven years, and the staff of Vosswood Nursing Center for their excellent care for her in the past two months.

The service of committal will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023, immediately following the funeral service.
