Peggy Anthony Milstead, 90, of Houston Texas, passed away September 30, 2022. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved to Houston as a child. Peggy graduated from Lamar High School, South Texas Junior College, and University of Texas Austin, where she received a Home Economics degree. She married Robert E. Milstead in July 1954.
Peggy was a homemaker, later working for her parents’ business, The Personnel Counselors, the first Industrial Psychologist firm in Houston. She was a member of: The Outdoor Nature Club (organizing their mailings) for combined Ornithology and Botany clubs, and the YMCA. As a Red Cross instructor, she taught swimming for many years at the Westbury pool and junior lifesaving at the Bellaire pool.
She had a passion for life, nature, art, birds, animals, grandchildren, and people.
Peggy is survived by her children Jan Milstead of Austin TX and Rob (Margaret) Milstead of Sugar Land TX; grandchildren Rachel (Ben) Steinert, Anna (David) Albright, and Sarah (Gabriel) Durham; great grandchildren Tony Steinert and Robbie Steinert; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, her parents John and Grace Anthony, and her sister
and brother-in-law, Norleen and Paul McGowen.
A graveside service will be held:
October 22nd at 11 AM at Forest Park, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
A memorial service will be held November 19th, 1-3 PM at Lost Creek Park Community Center,
3703 Lost Creek Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479.
