Deacon: Pedro (Pete) I. Lerma was called to be with his lord and savior on September 9th 2013. He was born on October 23, 1927 in Mercedes, Tx. Pete joined the Army and served his country during World War 2 and upon his return quickly fell in love with Dolores Guajardo. Soon after, he moved his family to Houston, Texas where he trained and graduated as a master barber at Lewis Barber College in 1956. He is survived by his wife Dolores Lerma, his three children, Irasema Lerma, Pete Lerma Junior, and Gina Lerma-Avila, Daughter in law Eva Lerma, Son in law Henry Avila, Grandchildren Jarrod, Antigone, Jonathan, Lori, four grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a Deacon for 30 years (25 of which were served at Blessed Sacrament Church). Pedro was well known and respected in the community. There will be a viewing, with rosary to follow, on Friday September 13, 2013. A mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament church (4015 Sherman St. Houston, Tx 77003) at 11am Saturday September 14, 2013 with interment at Forest Park Lawndale.
