Pedro Cantu

Waiting to greet him in paradise is his loving wife Teresa Cantu of 47 years, daughter Maria, grandson Dyhlan, parents Pablo and Trinidad Cantu, and siblings Celia Hughes, Nick Cantu, and Michael Cantu.

Pedro is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Cantu-Perez (spouse Concepcion), Rachel Diaz, Lenora Flores (spouse Canuto); son, Mario Salazar; brothers, Johnny Cantu (spouse Jimmie), Paul Cantu Jr. (spouse Ora) and sister, Linda Cantu. Including 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

He worked for the Port of Houston Authority for 27 years and was a dedicated ILA local # 1530 union official for over 20 years. After his retirement, at age 55, Pedro continued to be an active member of the community and a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo and St. Patrick Catholic Church. He enjoyed hosting bingo nights at Church, Playing Golf, Trips to the Casino, and Playing Cards and Dominos with his Friends and Family. He will truly be missed, loved by many, and respected by all.

A visitation for Pedro will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
