She is survived by her son, Paul Salazar and his wife, Marchele Salazar; siblings, Loretta Canales & husband Joe, Marjorie Araiza & husband Jesus, Lawrence Rodriguez & wife Lucy, Linda Lozano, and Yolanda Rodriguez; along with many family and friends who loved and will miss her immensely. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Florencio & Viola Rodriguez; siblings, Dolores Martinez, Richard Rodriguez.
She will be remembered for her big heart, always willing to help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. She grew up in the north side of Houston,
A Jeff Davis High School graduate and lived her life in the Heights for over 50 years. Pauline was a hard worker and finally got to retire several years ago. She was an avid sports fan, she liked baseball but loved football and was even a Houston Oilers season-ticket holder for many years. She really loved watching television, especially Novelas (a Spanish soap opera). Always enjoyed pretty clothes, but especially loved wearing her red lipstick! She thoroughly liked eating good food, did baking in her younger years and she loved making homemade dressing and potato salad for her family. She enjoyed spending the Christmas holiday with family and enjoyed opening gifts, but especially loved giving gifts even more. She was very special by raising her only child as a mother and a father. And, the best mother-in-law that a daughter-in-law could ever ask for. She was truly loved!
A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Tuesday, December 10th in The Chapel of Heights Funeral Home at 5:00pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm, officiated by Lucy Rodriguez. A small reception to follow on-site.
