Pauline Frances Parker Golightly (93) was born on January 1, 1922, in Normangee, Texas, to James T, and Daisy Ware Parker, and passed away November 19, 2015. She had three sisters---Faye, Irene, and Nola---and one brother, J.T. Parker, as well as a half-brother, Leslie Parker, and a half-sister, Zelma Smith. She attended and graduated from Normangee High School in 1939. While there, she was a cheerleader, and participated in various sports, including volleyball, tennis, and softball. After graduation, she moved to Houston, where she attended business school. Her first job---with the clothing store Mosk's For Men---was followed by a career in the banking business. At Houston First Federal Savings and Loan Association, she worked her way up to branch manager of the downtown office. She retired from First Federal in February 1984.
Pauline met and married Jack Hayes Golightly in Houston in 1940, and together they raised two children, Harry Glen and Judith Ann. Jack died in June 1993.
After retirement, Pauline spent much of her time enjoying the lake house that she and Jack had built at Crescent Shores on Lake Livingston. While at home in Houston, she enjoyed gardening and yard work, as well as church activities at Epworth Parker United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Suzanne Wesley Sunday School class and the Martha Circle, UMW. In later years, she was an avid fan of the Houston Rockets, the Astros, and the Oilers---finally, even the Texans.
Pauline is survived by her brother, J.T. Parker Jr., loving children, Harry Golightly, Judy Shirley, and grandsons, Gregory White and Hayes Shirley, who adored their "Mamaw".
