Her family moved to Camden, Arkansas where she grew up and graduated from Fairview High School in 1959. Shortly after graduation her family moved to Houston and except for a few brief periods she has lived in the Houston area since. Patsy went to work in the 70’s as a retail office manager and retired from Walmart after 17 years with the company.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Marie Wilson. She leaves to treasure her memory her loving husband of 25 years, Joe York Sr., daughter Donna Ryals and husband Rick, daughter Darla Bearden and husband Jimmy Redondo, son David Bearden, daughter Elaine Carrell and husband Mark, son Joe York II and wife Mary Ann. She also leaves behind nine loving grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Travis Ryals, James Redondo, Camron Barrineau, Clinton Barrineau, Amber Bearden, Brandon Bearden, Brian York, Krisi Ellis and Jessica York. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, her brother Charles Wilson and wife Anne, sister Cheryl deZafra and husband Ray, brother Michael Wilson, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends. Until illness curtailed her activities Patsy was an active member of the Bethesda Christian Center in Spring, Texas and will be missed by her church family also.
Patsy’s family would like to thank all of the doctors who cared for her in the last few years, with special thanks to Drs. William Couch, Luis Castillo, Joseph Galati, William Manuel and Sanjay Pallegar. We would especially like to thank the many nurses and PCAs who have so kindly cared for her. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Houston Hospice for their care, kindness and professionalism during a difficult week.
