 When I first walked into Patsy's classroom to be a student teacher, little did I know she would be come a trusted mentor, an exceptional role model, and very good friend for life. I was so saddened by this news and that I was not able to attend the celebration of the wonderful life of a wonderful friend and colleague.  I will always remember her smile and laughter, kindnesses and love for learning and teaching.  RIP, my friend.

My family will always remember Patsy with great affection.  She was one of those special people whose memory will live on in those hundreds of students whose lives she touched with her outstanding teaching.  My daughters were fortunate enough to be among those students.  We celebrated her retirement with her and understood when that retirement ended as she assumed a leadership role in Spring ISD.  Spring has lost one of its brightest stars!  My apologies that we did not receive this sad news in time to attend her services. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

The world has lost a great person, but her wisdom and dedication to educate children lives on all in of us that knew her.  Prayers and thoughts-

Patsy was one of a kind and I will miss her.  I planned tier 4 with her 28 years ago and I have always valued her advice in teaching. She is a great leader as well as a wonderful person. She had a way with making teachers feel important and valued.

Patsy was a special person.  As a math teacher, she had high expectations of her students as she patiently guided them to success.  She worked tirelessly with her colleagues...all for the sake of student success.  Her dedication to the students of Spring ISD was tremendous.  I feel honored to have known and worked with Patsy. Uncle Mike and Michelle, what a ride you had with her.  She was an amazing women who cared for others and lived life to the fullest.  My whole life I have been told that I favored Aunt Patsy, I consider that a honor.  Remember that when she entered into Gods heavenly home, Grandpa, Grandma, and my dad, Jerry were there to welcome her home.  Love and prayers always, Pam Hawkins.

Patsy...sweet Patsy!  She never had a harsh word to say about anyone. She was a true "lady".  Her laugh was absolutely distinguishable within even the largest of crowds.  When she laughed, she laughed!  She taught us all so much and not necessarily intentionally.  It was just her way of living!  Patsy will be greatly missed by so many: teachers, students, parents and community. She was truly one of a kind!

Patsy was an amazing woman!! I enjoyed working with her from  our many summer workshops with Mary Ann in charge - until Patsy took over as our Math director.  She ALWAYS had a positive attitude, a smile on her face and a solution to any problem.  I'm so glad I got to work with her! She was a true blessing to Spring ISD.

I have known Patsy since 1986. All the math teachers in SISD have always looked to her for guidance. She was a very dedicated educator. She loved teaching kids in her math classroom, as well as teaching fellow teachers later on in her career. I will miss her greatly as a leader and a friend. Patsy was an amazing woman.  Her laugh could be heard through the halls and across a crowded conference center.  I would smile and say that was Patsy. Her wisdom and knowledge about her topic was unmatched. She was a great teacher of teachers. A leader in the world of mathematics and I will ever be grateful to the difference she made in my life!

Mrs. Rambo is one of the reason I became a Math teacher! She had a way of making everyday fun. She was an amazing lady that will be greatly missed! I'm so glad I had the chance to be her student and a chance for her to be my mentor!

Mrs. Rambo was one of the best math teachers that I (and many other Winship Wildcats) ever had.  She had a special way of simplifying the complex and making even the most challenging problems fun!  She was the only teacher that ever taught me how to balance a checkbook and manage finances, even as an elementary school child.  From Oregon Trail, to the hiccup stare, Mrs. Rambo made math enjoyable and applicable.

The skills, confidence and memories of her classroom live on in me and countless others who were fortunate enough to have her as a math teacher.

She was a blessing to so many, and her lessons live on.

I will never forget you Patsy Rambo!  I really enjoyed the last 5 years I was able to work with you and learn from you as a new Math Instructional Specialist to the district. You made the transition so easy for me and you truly helped me see the teaching of math in a different way!  Very powerful, inspiring, intelligent woman!  You will be greatly missed.

Patsy was a great mentor for me as I was learning the ropes of how to be a mathematics director.  She had seen it all and faced both the joy and the challenges with grace and a sense of humor.  I will miss her.

Very sad to hear about the passing of a such a wonderful person.  Mrs. Rambo was my math teacher at Winship elementary in the early 90s...and she was kind of a legend in those halls.  

Although I was (allegedly) good at math, I had about zero self-efficacy when it came to topic.  Mrs. Rambo believed in me, and gently pushed me to do better and better. 

So many great memories in her classes that still make me smile: Oregon Trail, collecting stickers to get buttons made on The Button Machine (almost twenty years later and I still have some of those buttons), the word puzzlers, the candy...I remember I gave her a Rambo bear for Christmas one year (he dispensed tootsie-rolls as his ammunition), and I was absolutely BESIDE myself with excitement to give it to her.  

A fantastic lady and a real class act.  She will be greatly missed.

It is difficult to put into words the impact that Patsy has had upon me, not only as an educator, but as a person.
She was one of those rare, special people that left an impression upon you the first time you met her. She was a great listener and always made you feel that what you said and did had value. She gave equal support and encouragement to a student, a teacher, a fellow educator, and a friend. She never forgot any time that you helped her in any way. I remember her joyfully providing door prizes and yummy snacks at our Math Curriculum meetings- I can just picture her making several trips through the Math Exhibit halls to gather "goodies" to share with "her teachers"!

As intuitive and intelligent as she was about mathematics, she had the uncanny ability to get across that knowledge in the most basic ways. She  helped you to "get it" and then she expected you to go beyond to the next level, but not alone. She was always there to model and help you along.

I feel priviledged and blessed to have been able to hone my skills as a math teacher while working with her at Winship for several years. She taught me alot and I'm a better teacher for it.

But beyond teaching, she amazed me with her gusto for life. She'd dance to the Ventures, laughed out loud alot, found time for quilting, and had the guts to go rock climbing, white water rafting, and sharp shooting! She enjoyed a good meal and always knew where to find the best margaritas! No one could beat her energy or her joy for life. I will always admire that about her.

Mike and Michelle, I know you will miss your best friend and dearest love. But what wonderful times you shared. Your time together was blessed.
Keep those specials moments close to you during these difficult times. I know I will as I miss her so much already.

Patsy was a wonderful blessing and an inspiration to me.  It was Patsy who helped me discover a passion for math that I never knew I had and took my career in a new direction.  She was always so caring no matter what our "issues" were or when we called her.  Patsy was always there for me and my school.  She made a difference in the lives of some many students and educators.  It tickled me to hear about her hobbies, but I was glad she had some fun away from SISD.

Words cannot express the impact Patsy has had on my life or how much I love and miss her!  I thank God for allowing our paths to cross.  We are remembering you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Patsy, or Lady Wolf as we knew her, was a wonderful person, educator, cowboy shooter and friend.

Both my wife (then Mary Slack) and I had her for algebra in 8th grade.  We still talk about Mrs. Rambo frequently and what a blessing she was to us.  She had the stare that cured hiccups!

We are so sorry for your loss.  She was a wonderful lady and will be missed!

What a loss to education and to the many children that were taught by Patsy.  The bears that decorated her classroom always seemed to represent the warmth from which she taught. She would accept a special education student into her classroom as easily as the gifted child.   I loved her laugh and feel honored to have taught with her at Winship.  There are so many that feel this loss.  Thank you for the blessing of Patsy Rambo.

I love you Mrs. Rambo!  You are one of the best teachers that my brother and I ever had.  You made me work hard, it was expected.  I remember, Shannon telling me the story of you and Mrs. Capel dancing the Charleston on the tabletops to keep the kids entertained while the lights were out for long periods of time in the early Winship days.  I couldn't wait 'til you were my teacher!  
I treasured getting to know you as an adult when we were team members for several years.  You seemed to keep everything under control and in perspective.  Everything was perfect and you were and still are an awesome mentor.  I will miss you my friend.

Patsy was one of those "Damn Texas Women". If you ever shot at Landrun in OKC you know exactly what we are talking about. We loved them all and Patsy will always hold a special place in our hearts as one of the best ones. She had a great sense of humor and always made anytime spent together fun.
We loved shooting with Lady Wolf and were never surprised when she outshot everyone on her posse.
She was a special lady that will be missed by many friends, cowboy shooters and loved ones.

Some people make the world special by just being in it. Patsy was one of those people and we feel blessed to have known her.

I didn't know Mrs. Rambo very well but when she came to our school, she was never without two things--her large Sonic drink and her beautiul smile! My deepest condolences to the family of Mrs. Patsy Rambo. May God comfort your family in your time of need.

It is hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful person, so I will just see you later. Patsy, I will miss your smile, your wit, and your presence. It was an honor to work with you for so many years at Spring ISD!

Mike and Michelle, we are both so sad to hear about Patsy.  We remember all of you as good neighbors during the 22 years we lived next door.  Patsy was always friendly and cheerful, and that is how we will remember her.  You are in our prayers.

I have been lucky enough to be in Spring ISD for about 15 years and one of the things that made this a better place to be and work was Patsy Rambo.  I have never been a big math fan...I know probably not the best place to confess that...but it is true.  Patsy gave us the most wonderful encouragement as teachers and gave our students the best that was out there!  Thanks to her and the wonderful workshops and people she trained - I love math and will forever try to be the teacher and mentor she was!  Pasty, you will be sorely missed - but never forgotten.

Patsy was truly a wonderful person!  She always amazed us with her brilliance, her multitude of abilities and her incredible love for life.  She has touched so many lives along the way and we have never known anyone to work so tirelessly in pursuit of helping others.  We can't remember a time when she turned down an opportunity to live life with gusto and conquer everything she attempted.  Even though we lost touch with Patsy several years ago, we have continued to think of her often, remembering her smile, her tenacity and the many times she brought support and hope to others.  She leaves behind a beautiful legacy!

It was my extreme pleasure to meet and work with Patsy over the past 3 years while working for Spring ISD.  Patsy was an original to say the least.  She had a passion for teaching that was contagious.  I admit, the first time I met her I was intimidated.  She was great, and expected greatness from those who worked for her, but she was always willing to help out.  She had an appreciation for the past, but was always looking for new ways to reach students.  One thing I loved about Patsy the most was that she was not afraid to be herself.  She was an original and will remain irreplaceable in the hearts of those who knew her.  I thank God for the blessing of knowing her for the short time I did.  My prayers are with the Rambo family.

Patsy knew how to teach math to children and what was needed to make quality instruction happen.  She was so positive and made everyone feel comfortable and able to achieve.  She will be missed!

I never saw Patsy without a smile and had a laugh that made you want to join in.  Patsy was a beautiful person that shared her joy of math  with all of those she came into contact. I pray for peace and comfort to the family in their loss.

Patsy was such a passionate woman who put her heart and soul into everything she did. She worked hard and she played hard. We worked together in the C&I Department for many years. I always loved seeing whatever project she was working on because I knew it would be done perfectly. I loved and will greatly miss her....

Patsy was a true friend, mentor, outstanding teacher and a great person.  I remember her laugh and the countless ways she touched children, teachers and yes even principals (me included).  She taught our son for two years and he considered her his "favorite teacher".  Many did not know of the many hours Patsy put in for the good of teachers and students.  You will be missed my friend!

Patsy has done so much for the students of Spring ISD, and for math instruction in our state. She was responsible and dependable, but also knew how to have fun. She is leaving quite a legacy for other educators to follow. I will miss her dearly. The children of Spring ISD will miss her leadership...although they may not have ever met her. Her work will live on.

How do you say goodbye to someone who took you from crayons to vroom?  OK, that’s a bit of a stretch, but Patsy liked her golden oldies and it seems just as hard saying goodbye to someone who taught you to drive and typed your term papers for you (before there were any word processers).  Patsy was a great big sister who did not get too very mad at her little brother, even when he told her boyfriend to hold the phone because she was in the bathroom (hey, how did I know that was not proper etiquette – I was about nine).

Patsy was pretty great at anything she put her mind to.  She was an award winning math teacher and administrator as well as an award winning shootist.  Not something you can say about a lot of people.  If she had lived in the old west I guest she would have been a combination of Annie Sullivan and Annie Oakley (maybe Mom & Dad knew something when they made her middle name Ann).  When Patsy was shooting, she did not miss often, but she will be missed often by just about everyone who knew her (a little corny, but something she would expect from me).

She touched a lot of lives and the world seems to be a little dimmer place without her in it.

I met Patsy when I started teaching in Spring in '71.  She was one of those teachers who knew how to get the best out of her students as well as fellow teachers.  She worked tirelessly and it was not uncommon to find her fully involved in a project at 2:00 a.m.

She and Mike were my mentors in SASS.  They taught me about cowboy action shooting and let me borrow everything I needed when I first started.  To this day I still use the loading data they shared with me when I first holstered a pistol.

Patsy was a wonderful teacher, mentor, friend; Mike is a knowledgeable, sharing friend.  I am proud, humbled and a better person to have known them.

Patsy's passing leaves a hole in my heart--and I know I'll see her down the trail.  I wish Mike strength in the coming days--for he is loved and has many great friends that will support him.
