Pat was born on September 13, 1942 in Houston, Texas to Joseph and Ruby Mae Partin. Oldest of 3 siblings. He graduated from M.B. Smiley High School, class of 1960-61'.
He started his working life as a paperboy for the Houston Chronicle. After that he dabbled in the trades- plumbing, construction, and worked as a pile driver for the Carpenters and Millwrights. Drove "a mile of pile" in a day more than once working in Galveston bay. When his country called him up his service was in the Army. One tour in the Vietnam War, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. They called him "Sergeant Tex." Back home in Houston, Pat became a businessman, preferring self-employment. A used car lot, dump trucks, and dirt hauling. Called himself a "concrete cowboy." He was a rancher, had a passion for horses and trail rides. Many happy years with the Rojos and Mavericks, became their trailboss.
Pat also had a passion for couple dancing. Two-step was his favorite. He met his wife Nancy on the dance floor at Tumbleweed Texas. They were married on that same dance floor July 4th, 2002. They went on to teach dance lessons there. His greatest love and passion was race cars and kart racing. He and son Pat Jr. won many rooms full of trophies. Nascar was on the tv every weekend. Pat served as a life member of both the VFW and MOPH, he was very patriotic. Always up for a parade, participated in many; from rodeo parades to July 4th and Veterans Day. At the time of his retirement he was doing commercial mowing. A real renaissance man.
He is preceded in death by his parents, stepbrother Jimmie Partin, his brother William "Bubba" Partin and 2 nephews Grant and Shane Kovalski.
