Patricia Perry, age 80, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 23. She was born January 20, 1936 in Orange, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Horace E. Perry, Jr. and her parents Samford E. Pattillo and Florence Baker Pattillo.
Pat and Horace were married July 1, 1955. Pat’s love for the Lord was obvious to all who met her. She served faithfully for many years at Tallowood Baptist Church in the areas of music, prayer, Sunday School teaching and small group Bible study leading. Look up the term “prayer warrior” in the dictionary and you will likely find Pat’s picture. She prayed daily for friends and family. Prayer was her life-line to God and a God-send to her family and friends.
Pat was a colorful woman with many interests. She loved pens and paper and writing notes, being with family, road trips, watching old movies and eating Hershey kisses! She loved playing the piano whether anyone was in the room or not—the older the hymn the better!
She is survived by her four married children: Chuck Perry, his wife Gail and their children David, his wife Nina, daughter Lisa, and son Jon; daughter Janet Pankratz, her husband Greg, sons Mike and his wife Trishia and their son Ethan; Brian and his wife Megan and their daughters Kate, Ava, and Julia; son Stephen and his wife Cayli and son Judah; daughter Summer Garnett, her husband Alan, their son Christopher and his wife Kayla, and daughter Rebecca; son Sam Perry, his wife Kristi, and their children Hayden, and twins Blake and Ashlynn.
The family is very grateful for the care she received from doctors and nurses at Hermann Memorial Katy and Memorial City, Kindred Hospital Town and Country, Solera at West Houston, and Houston Methodist West Hospital. The family is also grateful for the phone calls, cards, food, housing, and prayers that have supported us in many ways. “Thank you for loving our mother and us!”
