Patricia “Pat” Ann Peña, age 62, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 surrounded by her husband and children. Patricia was born October 30, 1958 in El Campo, Texas to parents Luciana Garcia and Israel Garcia, Sr.
Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Luciana Garcia. She is survived by her husband, Robert Peña; daughters, Michelle Lynn Schwartz (husband Daniel Schwartz) and Melanie A. Peña; son, Matthew S. Peña; grandson Jonathan W. Schwartz; father, Israel Garcia, Sr., and brother, Israel Garcia, Jr.
Patricia was a long time resident of Houston’s North Side. She was a graduate of Sam Houston High School, Class of 1977. Patricia worked as an optometry assistant for the University of Houston – University Eye Institute. Prior to working for the university, she worked as a school secretary for Houston Independent School District.
On May 27, 1978, Pat married the love of her life, Robert. Together, they raised a loving family. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Patricia was a huge animal lover and also loved her favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros. Likewise, Pat just loved baseball in general. She spent many years volunteering at her local Little League Baseball parks as a team mom, league secretary and league treasurer. Pat also had a knack for decorating. She enjoyed collecting chili pepper décor for her kitchen and cowboy décor for the family room. In her spare time, she also made numerous beautiful crocheted blankets by hand.
Patricia was always happy and always had a smile on her face. She had a kind and giving heart with one of the sweetest dispositions. She loved her children and grandchild unconditionally. She will forever be loved and missed by many.
