Patricia was born to Ruth and James Shields in Wewoka, Oklahoma, on October 23, 1928. After graduating from Okmulgee High School, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Sociology. Patricia worked as an administrative and executive assistant for several prominent companies, including Telpar, Anderson Clayton, BJ Services, and the Graduate Research Center of the Southwest.
Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, dissectology (solving jigsaw puzzles), genealogy, and volunteering at her church and in her community. Patricia was well known for her intelligence, creativity, unique personality, passion for learning, and love for art and culture.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Landgren; her son, Dr. Christopher M. Loar; and her sister, Barbara Jean Shields.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Roberta Daughtery (William); her step-daughters, Karen Sultemeier (Joe) and Elaine Shasteen (Robert); her daughter-in-law, Catherine Palmer Loar (Eldon); seven grandchildren: Jessica Womack (Blake), Jeffery Sultemeier (Lydia), Stephanie Shasteen, Phillip Shasteen, Dr. Jonathon Shasteen, Dr. Robert Loar (Amy), and Stephen Loar (Erin); and four great-grandchildren: Elliot, Caroline, Vivian, and Matthew Loar.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at St. Timothy's Anglican Church with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Timothy's Anglican Church.
