Patricia Ann Garza, affectionately known as "Trisha," was born on September 19, 1963, in Houston, Texas, and passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024. Trisha's warm spirit and beautiful smile touched everyone she met. She was a beacon of kindness, never turning a blind eye to those in need, whether in her professional life or personal life.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Trisha excelled in activities such as baseball, camping, trips to the lake, and river rafting from her youth. She cherished intimate gatherings with close friends and family, sharing her love and laughter with those she held dear. Her favorite memories were the times spent around a campfire, swapping stories, and enjoying the company of loved ones.
Trisha had a special place in her heart for her furbabies, always eager to help stray animals. She would often find a stray and immediately want to take it home, either keeping it or caring for it until she could find a good home. At the time of her passing, she cared for three pets: Lulu, Louie, Barnaby, and an outdoorsy cat named Baby.
Professionally, Trisha dedicated over 17 years to Catholic Charities, where she led programs like "Share Your Blessings," Back To School giveaways, disaster relief drives, HIV/AIDS Ministries, Senior Services and other impactful campaigns. Her joy came from the hugs and smiles of those she helped, knowing she made a difference in their lives. One of her proudest moments was organizing a large-scale disaster relief drive that provided aid to hundreds of families.
Trisha leaves behind a multitude of close friends and family, many of whom have been part of her life for over 30 years. She was unapologetically truthful, kind-hearted, and filled with pure love. Her bright smile and straightforward nature assured everyone that things would always get better. A close friend recalls, "Trisha had a way of lighting up the room and making everyone feel at ease. Her genuine kindness and honesty were truly rare."
Trisha was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Bertha Garza, and three siblings, Salvador Jr., Mary Arizola, and Diane Hernandez. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and Elizabeth Alexander.
