Patricia Dooley

Patricia Ann Dooley passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the age of 75 in Houston, Texas. Pat was born on September 3, 1946, in Raceland, Louisiana to Louis V. Whittington and Helen Whittington. Upon moving to Houston, Pat attended and graduated from Westbury High School. Pat had one son, Gary Don Heath, Jr., whom she absolutely adored, and was such a proud mom of all his accomplishments. Pat spent 30 years as a dedicated employee working for MD Anderson Cancer Center, a job she loved dearly. Upon her retirement, Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved pets. She was a very brave and strong breast cancer survivor of 11 years, and never hesitated to donate to breast cancer awareness and American Veterans. Pat also had one granddaughter, Amber Heath, who was the light of her life, and loved spending time with her. Once she moved into assisted living at the Avanti, Pat became so involved in all the activities they offered, it occupied all of her time, sometimes leaving her family to wonder why she was not answering the phone. She participated in exercise classes three times a day, art classes, and of course, her favorite, bingo. Pat even won “Fitness Resident of the Month”. She also loved that no matter what, every morning, the Avanti would deliver her chocolate milk and cinnamon roll for her breakfast. Pat passed away peacefully with her family by her side, and she is preceded in death by her father and mother, and her brother Don Whittington. She is survived by her son Gary Don Heath, Jr., and wife Janet Heath, sister, Debbie Hajek, brother-in-law Mark Hajek, granddaughter Amber Heath, step-grandchildren Madison and Steven Borgstedte, sister-in-law Marian Whittington, uncle Philip Whittington, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat was very passionate about animals and she rescued her dog DD from K9 Angels. In lieu of flowers, she would be honored if donations were made to K9 Angels Rescue or the American Cancer Society.
