Pamela “Pam” Estelle Folsom passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Schaumberg, Illinois on January 27, 1949. Pam grew up in Schaumberg attending Nash Elementary and Austin High School. Following Schaumberg, Pam lived in Topeka, Kansas until 1983; then onto Des Moines, Iowa until 1986. Texas became her home in 1986; first living in The Woodlands, followed by Spring and finally landing in Montgomery. Pam met Rick George in 1989 and after 30+ years of dating, Pam and Rick tied the knot in Las Vegas January 30, 2020. Sadly, she was preceded in death by Rick October 1, 2023, a mere 112 days ago. She was also preceded in death by her parents John and Frances Folsom, sisters Patsy DeClercq and Nancy Winscom; Robert Glaug (father to Michelle & Mark) and her dear friend (who was like a sister) Sue Boyd.
She is survived by her children Michelle Bartusek (fiancé Michael McClimon), Mark (Ronnie) Glaug, Brandy (Jason) Griffiths, Justin George (partner Kristina Romero), Ashley (Justin) Mellen; grandchildren Ryan Bartusek (fiancé Hanna Nebel), Matthew Bartusek, Anthony (Alyssa) Glaug, Nicholas Bartusek (fiancé Miranda Richards), Emily Bartusek (partner Cole Peterson), Cassidy McClimon, Isaac Bartusek, Abigail McClimon, Presley Mellen, Kaidence Mellen, Texas George-Romero, Quinn Griffiths, Adilynn Mellen, Lennon George-Romero, Lane George-Romero and Blakely Mellen; great-grandchildren James Bartusek and Baby Glaug (coming soon!) Her grandchildren affectionately call her “Nanny Pam” and her great-grandchildren will know her as YaYa, the great-grandma name she chose for herself. She is also remembered by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, many extended family members and friends. Last, and certainly not least, her loyal dogs, Bitty and Beau, who are certainly missing their sweet mom.
Anyone who knows Pam immediately recognized her love and utter devotion to her family. In fact, one of Pam’s favorite past times was traveling with family. Summer trips to the Ozarks with her children and grandchildren brought absolute joy to her heart. We must not forget her other favorite vacation destination, Las Vegas. Blackjack tables and slots were her favorites and she always seemed to get lucky. Like all of us, Vegas seemed to love Pam right back. When she wasn’t vacationing, she became a master at Dots, a game on her iPad and an expert in Amazon shopping. She loved Harry Potter and was a more than dedicated follower of everything Harry Potter. Over the last year Maverick and Secretariat became her favorite movies. She had a beautiful voice and would sing along with the last song of Maverick, “Hold My Hand’.
Her vibrant smile, beautiful heart, and bright spirit will be missed by all. But Pam’s legacy lives on through all who loved her.
A visitation for Pamela will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
