Paige Elaine Hundemer went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father on March 3, 2024. She was born on January 12th, 1949, in El Dorado, Kansas as the second oldest of six children of Alyce and Landon Riggs. She grew up in both Augusta and Leon, Kansas. It was Leon where she attended high school and joined several school functions including the school newspaper, student council, and president of the pep club.
Paige leaves behind 3 children: Erin Wilhelm (son-in-law Byron Wilhelm), Todd, and Ryan (daughter-in-law Kathryn) as well as two grandchildren, Barrett and Addison. She is preceded in death by brothers John, Curt, and Walter (Dub), and she had two sisters, Priscilla (Pris) and Allyson (Ally) who reside in Augusta and Kansas City respectively. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Paige enjoyed camping trips and vacations to New Mexico and Colorado with her family. She also took several trips to Galveston where she relished the ocean air and rolling waves. There were annual trips back to Augusta before her dad Landon and mom Alyce passed to celebrate Thanksgiving. On rare occasions, she was able to show her Houston-born kids what real snow looked like and how to throw a snowball in their bread bag-covered hands (inside joke).
She adored her grandchildren Barrett and Addison. She attended several of their school activities, including Grandparents Day and sporting events. She was their Grammies, and that bond started from day one as Paige was there for each delivery, welcoming Barrett and Addie into the world with her warm embrace.
Paige spent her career in the oil and gas industry as a budget analyst among other positions, working for Challenger Minerals, Meridian Oil, and Southwestern Energy where she made numerous lifelong friends.
Paige will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her light shone bright while she lived, and it will continue to shine as she enters eternal peace. We love you always, Mom/Grammies.
