Ova Jean Parks Buddemeyer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and Christian, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2022 at the age of 93 in Tomball, Texas. She was born August 16, 1928 in Waxahachie, Texas to the late Ruth Ruby Mauldin Parks and Percy Smithson Parks. She is preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Edward “Eddie” William Buddemeyer, and younger brother, Roy Parks.
Jean graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas in 1945. She worked as a secretary and executive assistant at various companies in Houston for over 25 years, most of the time being at Honeywell, Dresser Industries and Southern Pacific Railroad.
Jean was married to her beloved husband and best friend, Eddie, for 45 years. During that time, she and Eddie attended and volunteered at Second Baptist Church. They enjoyed traveling including trips to The Victorian in Galveston, New Braunfels, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Branson Missouri, Hawaii, Alaska, Russia and Spain just to name a few. Another favorite pastime of theirs was playing games, especially dominoes and Rummikub. They just enjoyed life and spending time with family.
In God’s care, Jean leaves behind her daughter Sharon “Sherry” Roberts and husband Richard; sons Dale Buddemeyer and wife Kathy and Kirk “Korky” Buddemeyer and wife Vela; grandchildren Kimberly Roberts Simmons and husband George, Greg Roberts and wife Virginia, Melissa Buddemeyer Ray and husband Harlan and Tyler Buddemeyer; great grandchildren Andrew Simmons, Cameron See, Baylee Simmons, Molly Anne Ray, Elizabeth “Elle” Roberts and Harlan Ray Jr.
