Otis Grant, Sr.

Otis Grant, Sr. was born October 27, 1934 to Mr. Charlie and Emma Grant. Both parents preceded him in death. He was the eighth child of eleven children. Otis departed this life June 18, 2012. Otis attended Harper School and attended Barber College. He was also employed as a machinist at John L. Dore. Preceding him in death is Emma Jane, Merline, Herman, Melvin, Londell, Charlie Jr. and Grant. Otis was very talented, among his favorite hobbies was cooking. He loved to barbeque fo his family and friends. He also made suasage with his own original recipe. Otis had a very outgoing personality and loved people. He was quite a comedian. One of his precious gifts also was peotry. He wrote meaningful peotry that really expressed his thoughts and feelings. He met and married Betty Grant, March 27, 1955. To this union was born seven children. He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Linda Harvey, Carolyn Jackson, and Suzanne Taylor; four sons, Otis Grant, Jr., Eric Grant, Donald Grant and Ulysses Grant; two sisters, Addie Lee Dornes and Lillie D. Grant; two brothers, Elvin and James Grant; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
