His Life Story

Osmay Robinson, Jr. was born on August 16, 1947, in Le Moyne, Louisiana, to Osmay Sr. and Irene Robinson. He moved to Houston with his parents at an early age. There, he was baptized at an early age to Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member serving on the usher board, male chorus, transportation committee, and the brotherhood until he was called home. He attended Nat Q. Henderson Elementary, E. O. Smith Middle and Phillis Wheatley Senior High School where he graduated. He then went on to join The United States Army where he served for three years. After returning, he attended Texas Southern University where he met and married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Thomas. To this union they had two sons, Mark Anthony and Steven E. He was employed and retired from Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift, where he retired. Shortly after retirement, he began to work for Hertz rental company until he was called home.

Osmay departed this life on Monday, May 22, 2023, from Kingwood Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents (Osmay Sr. and Irene); his wife (Shirley Ann); his son (Mark Anthony); his sister (Barbara); his brother (Jerry); and a heavenly host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Steven; his sister, Lee Ester; his brothers, LeRoy (Pamela), Donald Ray (Michelle), and Jerral. Also carrying his love and instructional guidance forever are his God-children, Isaac (Tiffany), Tanya (Leonard), LeKeshia (Cedric), and Annthony. Holding his memories are his eight God-grandchildren and three great-God-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and close friends that will forever cherish his memories.

A visitation for Osmay Robinson will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church, 8901 Jensen Dr. Houston, TX 77093, followed by a funeral services from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Osmay Robinson will be laid to rest in Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd Houston Tx., Houston, TX 77088.
