Born in Houston on the 11th of March 1930, to Othello Oscar Hare, Sr. and Ora Dell Harvey Hare, Buddy is survived by three generations of loving family.
Buddy was a 1952 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and a widely respected independent banker.
He will be remembered for his humor, his entertaining stories, his unfailing work ethic, his generosity, and his willingness to help anyone at any time.
In his later years, when age and vascular dementia robbed him of his strength and stamina, it also gave him a softness we treasured. During this time he taught us patience and allowed us to show him a small measure of the love and attention he had long showed all of us.
His family is forever grateful for the care, love, friendships and grace provided by Ann Belisle, Beverly Thomas, Merle Rostant, Mishel Green and Letty Miramontes. Each brought unique gifts, perspectives and peace to the family.
Carmel Bitondo Dyer, MD, and her staff at UT Physicians Center for Healthy Aging will always be remembered with heartfelt gratitude for the care and compassion given Buddy.
The family will gather for a private interment at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Henderson, Texas.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to the UTHealth Consortium on Aging, 7000 Fannin, Suite 1200, Houston, TX 77030.
