It's taken me some time to process this huge loss but I'd be remiss to not speak of my former boss and friend, Hap.  There has never been nor will there ever be another quite like Hap.  I was  straight out of college when Hap interviewed and hired me as a lab tech.  For 18 years of my career, I worked for Hap.  He taught me so much in that time!  He taught me how to titrate with perfection; he taught me about 401K investments; he even taught me how to change a flat tire right there in the parking lot at work! In many ways, he was like a second father!  I loved hearing stories of when he was a young pilot in Vietnam and how the ladies thought he looked like the actor George Hamilton!  We shared so many laughs over the years.  He absolutely loved life but his greatest loves were his three children, Christopher, Brandon, and Christine.  He was so proud of them.  Christine was a dynamic point guard at Windsor Forest High and Hap would cut newspaper articles and show the entire plant his baby girl!  
My sincere hope is that you lived your best life after retirement and that you know how much you meant to so many people.

It was an honor to attend this very intimate and delicate family event. I was also greatly touched to witness the love that was shared for this great man by friends and family and to discover so many beautiful things about him, shared by the stories told during the celebration of his life.

What a sad news! I just would like to send a small word from France to tell all of Hap's family how great was Hap with me.  We have been working for almost 30 years together, spent hours and hours in the production plant, had so many lunches and dinners together and Hap always showed his great and nice smile as if printed on his face. He enjoyed speaking in french and joking. I will miss him a lot, but keep a special room for him in my memory for ever.
