Oliver left home at the age of 17 to move to Houston, Texas. Oliver then found work at the Port of Houston.
Oliver met and married May B. Turner in May of 1970. From this union, Oliver Eric Davis was born. Oliver worked as a mechanic and a bus driver for many years with North Forest ISD until he retired. He later joined the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in February of 1992 under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Edward Collins Jr. He enjoyed traveling, playing dominoes, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, May B. Davis; both parents, Gustave and Ollie Davis; brothers, Wafford, Ollend, Roland, and Ricky Davis. He is survived by his siblings, Pamela Moore, Bettie Carter, Wilma Davis, Velma Davis, Venus Guildry, Zena Eglin, Gordon Davis, Cirby Davis, and Carl Davis.
He is survived by his children, Charles B. Davis Sr., Sharon L. Davis, Keith A. Davis and Oliver Eric Davis; grandchildren, TaKeisha Norris, Krystal Oueilhe, Charles B. Davis Jr., Malik Davis, Ariana Davis; great−grandson Adrian “A.J.” Newsome and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
