Norman C. Uhlir, age 81, loving son, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on Saturday, June 30, 2018 with his wife by his side. Norm was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 23, 1937 to Clarence and Gladys (Vanek) Uhlir. Norm attended Parma Senior High School (Class of 1955), Miami University (1955-1957), Case Western Reserve University – BBA/MBA (1960), and National University – MBA (1988). On June 20, 1959, he married Frances Braun.
He was employed by Ford Motor Company, TRW, Inc., Bearing Point (formerly KPMG & Peat Marwick Mitchell), Huffy Corporation, Sundstrand Corporation (now UTC), Parker Pen Company, Van Dresser Corporation, George S. May International, Smith-Laurin Group, International Profit Associates, Managed Profit America, Inc., Relay Services and The Top Gun Executive Group. He was a proud Mason and member of Ashlar Lodge #639 (Cleveland, Ohio), Valley of Cleveland AASR (Cleveland), and Tebala Shrine (Rockford, Illinois).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Fran; daughter Shelly (Jonathan Pressler); sons Dennis and Scott (Stephanie); niece Stacey (Mike) Thompson; nephew Todd Wiley; and grandchildren Alexandra, Nicholas and Tasha. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Smith. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
