Norberta, was born in Falfurrias, Texas on June 6, 1932, to Apolonio Mercado and Rosa Garza. She was married to Enrique Garcia. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her four sons and two daughters. Guillermo Garcia - wife, Janie, Andres Garcia, Jesse Garcia - wife, Oralia, Enrique Garcia Jr., Margie Ybarra - husband, Alejandro and Rosa Vega - husband, Tony. Norberta, was blessed with forty-seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Norberta, had a passion for plants and she loved to travel. She was a very independent, strong, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother till the end.
Norberta Mercado Garcia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Enrique Garcia; parents, Apolonio Mercado and Rosa Garza; brothers, Guadalupe Mercado, Guillermo Mercado (Tio Wille) and Pedro Mercado; sisters, Maria Luisa Alaniz, Santos Mercado and Alejandra Garcia (Tia Cana).
