N.J. Wardlaw Jr., beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on January 3, 1927 to N.J. Wardlaw and Beryl Chastain Wardlaw. He grew up on a ranch in Pandale, Texas; after several years he returned to Fort Worth, Texas to attend school. Mr. Wardlaw served in the Army in the third infantry regiment in Germany, following World War II. He was in the Army of Occupation and received honorable discharge in 1946. He attended the University of Texas, studying pre-law. He married Marthabel McKinley of Marlin, Texas on September 2, 1947. After leaving the University of Texas, Mr. Wardlaw worked in Fort Worth, Texas for General Dynamics, and later for Associates Investments Corporation for 17 years. In 1969, he moved to Houston, Texas and worked as General Manager for Overseas Motors for the next ten years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Louis Wardlaw of Uvalde, Texas; and a son, N.J. Wardlaw, III. Mr. Wardlaw is survived by his wife of 64 years; sister, Betty Williams of Arlington, Texas; three children, Chastain Wardlaw and wife Kiki of Valdosta, Georgia; Greg Wardlaw and wife Jana of Fort Worth, Texas; and Elizabeth Russey and husband Terry of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren, N.J. Wardlaw, IV and wife Lisa; Betsy McDonald and husband Matthew; Lang Wardlaw; Andrea Consaul and husband Parker; Bob Wardlaw; Jason Wardlaw and wife Kelly; Georgia Wardlaw; Baker Wardlaw; Sean Wardlaw; Liz Wardlaw; Lucy Wardlaw; Marthalea Russey and husband Francisco Coutino; five great grandchildren: Patsy Wardlaw; Avery McDonald; P.C. Consaul; Joah McDonald; and Nathan Wardlaw. He is also survived by numerous relatives. His mother was one of 15 siblings. Mr. Wardlaw's greatest joys in life were his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also loved spending time at the family ranch in Rock Springs, Texas. Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Forest Park Westheimer in the Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
