Nikolaos Kapetanakis

Nikolaos (Nik) Kapetanakis, born on October 3, 1989, in Houston, Texas, to Christos (Chris) Kapetanakis and Paola Isola Kapetanakis, was a beloved son, brother, and friend. The firstborn of four boys, Nik was a devoted and compassionate older brother to Alexandros (Alexis), Stefanos, and Andreas, guiding them with warmth, humor, and an unfailing love. He was cherished by all who knew him, a bright light in many lives with his kindness and vibrant spirit.

Nik graduated from St. Thomas High School in 2008 and went on to earn a degree in business from the University of Arkansas, graduating in 2013. A proud Razorback and member of Phi Gamma Delta, Nik found joy in college life, particularly through his love for live music, where he was active in various student organizations that celebrated this passion. His love for music continued long after graduation, attending concerts and sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family.

After college, Nik pursued a career in commercial real estate, where he excelled as an investment sales associate at Marcus & Millichap, earning his commercial real estate license. And later worked with his dad, a time filled with special memories that we will always cherish. Outside of work, he was an avid supporter of his favorite sports teams, embodying a steadfast loyalty and excitement that was contagious to those around him.

Nik’s loyal companion, Apollo, a beautiful Brittany Spaniel whom he adopted during his time at the University of Arkansas, was a beloved part of his life for nearly 13 years. Apollo remained by Nik’s side through the years, bringing joy to the entire Kapetanakis family.

Nik is survived by his parents, Chris and Paola, and his brothers, Alexis, Stefanos, and Andreas, who will forever hold him and the many wonderful memories shared together in their hearts “to the moon and back”.

His service will be held at St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, November 18, at 11 a.m., where all are welcome to come together in prayer, remembrance and celebration of Nik’s life.
