Nicole Lynn Dumas passed away on October 26, 2012 in Houston, Texas. She was born to Kevin and Colleen Dumas of Cypress, Texas on March 6, 1984. Proudly welcomed into this world by her grandparents Milton and Carmen Morris and Paul and Cleatith Dumas. Aunts and Uncles Tim & Stacy Morris, Pat Morris, Mike & Susie Morris, Mary and Joe Meegan, Chris and Cindy Dumas, Cousins Shane Morris, Katy & BJ Harrelson, Tyler Dumas, Kirby Dumas , Maggie Meegan, Niece & Nephew Karly & Wyatt Harrelson.
Nicole graduated from Cypress Springs High School in 2002, was an Officer on the Pantera Drill Team. She received her B.S. degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University in 2006 and her Master's degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Social Work and Business Administration from Texas State University in 2009. She was employed with Workers Alliance Program as a Case/Accounts manager living in Austin with her boyfriend Roderick Young and her beloved puppies, Ernie and Olivia.
During her short adult life, she was a passionate advocate for everyone that was in need of help and assistance with a strong drive to better the quality of life for anyone. Over the past two years struggling through her own disease, one of her goals was to start a foundation to assist other young women and their families struggling through every aspect of lung cancer.
Her family and friends who loved her so very much will miss her forever and will keep her passion and dreams alive.
The family will be welcoming friends and family on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 6-8:00pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 10:00am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, future donations may be given to the foundation started by Nicole; The Lung Cancer Foundation for Young Women, which will be active on her birthday March 6, 2013.
