Nellie "Dean" Parnell, age 92, of Houston, Texas passed away on November 13, 2020.. Dean was born September 26, 1928 in Gravelridge, Arkansas to Doyle and Nolie Mae Johnson. She was married to Cecil for 69 years. She was a gifted homemaker and spent her time caring for her husband and children.
Dean was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Lamar Parnell and brother Derry Lee Johnson and his wife Laverne. Left to cherish her memories are children and their spouses: Donnie and Susie Parnell, James and Grace Parnell, Stephen Parnell; grandchildren: Jaimie Gaas, Jason Parnell, Stephanie Lira, Kimberly Martin and great-grandchildren: Vennessa Jenkins, Wyatt Gaas, Cody Gaas, Jordan Whitehead, Kameron Lira, Easton Parnell, Caidyn Parnell, Rilyn Andrews, Konner Lira; great-great-granddaughter Annabelle Jenkins and brothers Dwight and Kenneth Johnson.
A visitation for Dean will be held Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The funeral service will be Friday, November 20, 2020 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are: Patrick Lira, Evan Jenkins, Jeff Gaas, Kameron Lira, Wyatt Gaas, Cody Gaas.
