She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Elizabeth Weaver and by her siblings Eugene Weaver, Ronnie Weaver, Billy Weaver, Carolyn Redden, Margaret Burris, Gary Weaver and Roger Weaver.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years Danny Johnson, her children Regina Emmons and husband Dewayne, Andrea Morton, Scott Johnson and wife Amy, Dwayne Johnson and wife Jamie. Grandchildren Shanna Emmons, Hannah Emmons, Johnathan Morton, Coleton Morton, Britanee Campbell and husband Matt, Lonnie Leatherwood and wife Megan, Hayden Leatherwood, Maddox Johnson, Tyler Boyce, Katlynn Johnson, Dwayne Johnson Jr, Casey Boyce. Great grandkids Emma Leatherwood, Cayden Leatherwood and baby Johnson who is on the way.
Nelda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a big heart and an unbreakable spirit. She was a fighter who survived breast cancer. Once her kids were grown she volunteered at the local food pantry Helping Hands of Jacinto City. She was the heart of our family and her passing has taken a piece of our hearts with her. She will forever be missed.
Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Boyce, Casey Boyce, Dwayne Johnson Jr., Hayden Leatherwood, Coleton Morton, and Johnathan Morton. Serving as honorary pallbearer, Maddox Johnson.
A visitation for Nelda will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A burial committal will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 at Brookside Memorial Park.
