Ned L. Conley

Ned L. Conley, passed away, the 13th of November 2014 at the age of 88. He was born, the 7th of December 1925, in Lovelady, Texas to the late Robert Preston and Myrtle Ida Snell Conley. When Ned was 4 years old, the family relocated to Houston, where he and his siblings were raised.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. Ned graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University Class of 1947. He then attended law school and graduated from South Texas College of Law with a jurisprudence degree in 1955.

In 1947, Ned married Betty Bailey in Houston who preceded him in death in March of 2007. In December of 2007, Ned married Eve Hays in Houston.

Ned was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, his brothers, Nolan and Reuben.He is survived by his wife, Eve Conley; sons, Bob and wife Joan, Rick and wife Kelly; stepdaughter, Becky Geller and husband Michael; stepson, Dr. Brad Hays; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Ray and wife Darja, Ben, John and wife Joyce; sister-in-law, Renee.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from two o'clock until four o'clock in the afternoon, Sunday, the 16th of November 2014 in the drawing room of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning, Monday the 17th of November 2014 at Bethany Christian Church, 3223 Westheimer Road in Houston, with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Thompson, Senior Minister and the Rev. Blair Parker, Associate Minister of Pastoral Care, officiating. Immediately following all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the church parlor.

Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at the Hollywood Cemetery.
