Navin Garcia

In 1975, Navin met Bertha Elizabeth Castillo in Gary, Indiana during a summer job where he noticed Bertha practicing her ballerina routines and were later married in July of 1982 by J.P. Macario Garcia in Houston, Texas. Navin and Bertha gave birth to their first child Navin Jr Garcia in August of 1978. Navin Jr married Samantha Barrera who blessed Navin Sr with four grandchildren. Kassandra Elisa who also shared the same date of birth as Navin Sr, Marissa Danielle, Navin Alexander, and Jordan Samuel. Navin and Bertha later gave birth their second child, Maria Del Carmen Garcia in December of 1979 and blessed Navin Sr. with an additional grandchild, Nicholas Alexander who blessed Navin Sr with a great grandchild, Lorenzo Emmanuel. In December of 1983, Bertha gave birth to their third child, Joshua Angel Garcia who became engaged to Maryellen Graves in May of 2021.

Navin is survived by his 3 brothers, Noe, Noel, and Moises, and his 6 sisters, Noelia, Mirthala, Minerva, Nola, Maria Dahlia, Loydia.

Navin started his first job at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Gary, Indiana on 5th Avenue in 1975. He later started working at the Double Tree Hotel in Houston, Texas as an apprentice boiler engineer. Through work experience and taking classes, he was able to obtain his license where became certified by the City of Houston and the Water District to work on water boilers. In 1990, Navin started working at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and retired in 2014 as the Superintendent overseeing a team of Boiler Engineers at the age of 55.

A visitation for Navin will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
