Naomi Manning

Naomi 'Helen' Manning (nee Jarvis) passed away in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Paragould, Arkansas on April 8, 1926; shortly thereafter, her family moved to the Houston area, where she made her home for the next 87 years. Helen married Walter Paul Manning of Houston, Texas on May 2, 1942. Her son, Walter Paul Manning, Jr., was born a year later in May of 1943 and was followed three years later by a daughter, Jannette Manning. Helen always counted the health and success of her family among her greatest blessings. She is survived by the loves of her life: son Walter and his wife Elaine of Friendswood, great granddaughter Kristina Amason Montes (husband Alex Montes) of Cypress, and great grandson Christopher Amason; grandaughters Kathryn Manning Thompson (husband Henry Thompson), Paula Manning, Sherran Manning of Friendswood and Lesa Cegielski of Memphis, Tennessee; nieces Peggy Davis and Sherry Dwyer, nephew Dr. Robert Lambeth and very special friends Robin Murphy, Joy Grady and Eric Schmidt. Helen enjoyed a total of fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Walter Paul Manning, her siblings Mable, Ernest, Carl David, John and Lucille, daughter Jannette and grandchildren Spiro Nikolouzos, and Deanna Collier.Services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 9:30 am at the Forest Park Cemetery on Lawndale in Houston, Texas.
