Nancy Ellen Shouse went home to be with her Lord on April 8th, 2025. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Nancy devoted her life to serving her church and community. She was a proud member of the Order of the Daughters of the King and an oblate with the House of Initia Nova, where she found purpose and fellowship.
Born on August 17, 1941, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, to Robert Cline and Mary Weinbrock Green. She married Donald Gary Martin in 1961, and together they had three children—Leslie, Gary, and David. Later in life, she married Harry Joseph “Russ” Shouse, expanding her circle of love and family.
Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russ Shouse; her son, Gary Martin; her son-in-law, Kenny Wood; and her grandson, Stafford Pardue.
She is survived by many who loved and cherished her, all of whom brought her joy beyond measure: her brother, Bob Green; her children - Leslie Norwood and husband John, Dave Martin and wife Andie, Cathy Martin, Debbie Mikowski, and Rick Shouse; her grandchildren - Kat Quinn, Matt Norwood and wife Abby, Amanda Dobbs and husband Andrew, Tyler Martin, Cassie Martin, Amanda Snider, and husband Chad, Leslie Watson and husband Travis, Jamie Winkley and husband Richey, and Cody Wood, and her niece Elaine Jones. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and several cousins.
Nancy also leaves behind her treasured community at the House of Initia Nova, her church family at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, and a circle of dear friends, including Zenobia and Yolanda Kinsey, Mary Cowan, Rosa Perez, Doug Wilson, and Mario Salgado, Jr.
Nancy and her family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all who supported her throughout her journey: Dr. Yvette Batiste, the dedicated staff at Texas Oncology - especially Dr. Paula Ryan and Kamilah Rodriguez, the compassionate team at Methodist Hospital Woodlands Imaging Department including Shana and Larry, and the caregivers at Gentiva Spring and Hospice Plus Athens.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy requests that donations be made to a favorite charity or the Nam Food Pantry, a cause close to her heart.
