At the age of 3, Myrna’s family moved to the north Texas area around Fort Worth, where her brother J. Frank Lamb, Jr. was born. Her family moved back to Houston when she was 14, where she graduated high school and met her future husband and father of her two children, Michelle Denise and Joseph Thomas Haney, Jr. In her professional life, Myrna had a rewarding career working for Dr. John S. Stehlin's cancer clinic for over 30 years.

Shortly thereafter she moved to Centralia, Texas, where she attended Calvary Baptist Church and lived with her brother J. Frank and his wife Allison, both of whom helped care for Myrna the last years of her life.
