Murline "Pat" Coldwell was born on October 12, 1931 in Port Arthur, Texas to Sidney and Amanda Melancon. Her father wanted to name her Leon Myrline, but her mother would not have it and she came to be known as Murline Leona Melancon. She was the middle child of three.
She was employed for many years with Forest Park Lawndale until her retirement.
Pat loved the color purple. She loved TCM and spent many hours watching the old black and white movies that provided her much enjoyment. She also loved Butterflies, Downton Abbey and to spend hours thrift store shopping. She loved coming home with bags of treasures on 50% off days. It was her therapy.
Pat raised her four children by herself serving as both Mom and Dad. She could be loud and swung a mean belt, but was always there when you needed her. Her door on Lenore was always open to many of the Meadowbrook neighbor kids who she loved as her own.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Sidney and Amanda Melancon and her brother's whom she loved very much Cecil Melancon and Joseph (Winky) Melancon.
She is survived by her children: Janell and spouse George Adank, Glen and Brandy Coldwell, Kelli Coldwell and fiance Richard Denson all of Houston, Texas. Coy Coldwell of Austin, Texas.
Her loves of her life, her grandchildren: Joshua Adank and fiance Katie Grenwelge of Houston, Texas, Jordan Adank and fiance, Kristen Wright of La Porte, Texas and Glenn and Carson Coldwell of Houston, Texas. She also has one great grandchild Brayden Wright of La Porte, Texas, Honorary family Isaac and Eve Soliz of Houston, Texas.
Sister in laws, Nelda (Joseph-Winky) Melancon and Peggy (Cecil) Melancon and numerous nieces and nephews.
