Muriel Marie Sandel Parks

Muriel Marie (Sandel) Parks was born in Normangee, Texas on Sunday, November 2, 1930, to Opal (Dobbs) Sandel and Jesse A. Sandel. She went to be with our Lord on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the age of 86.

Muriel was saved at age 15 and was a member of Grace Community Church. She graduated with honors from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston at age 16. She was employed by Hartford Accident and Indemnity and later by ITAG and Borden Enterprises, Inc.

Muriel was married for 56 years to Robert “Bob” Parks, who precedes her in death. She is survived by her devoted children, daughter Kathy and husband Rick; son Kerry and wife Jan; grandchildren Jason, Melissa, Haley, Shelby and their families, as well as six great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather and share memories during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, and where Pastor Rick Minett will lead a celebration of this wonderful woman’s life in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
