Muna H. Kawaja

Muna Kawaja, 67, passed away on March 8, 2023, in Houston, Texas. She was born in Jifna, Palestine on October 25, 1955 to Jeries and Zahieh Rafidi. Muna married in July 1976, and moved to Houston where she started her family. Muna devoted her life to her family and she loved being a mother and grandmother.

Muna is survived by her husband of 47 years, Husam Kawaja, her daughters Manal Iwais and husband Mohanad Iwais; Jowanna Knapp and husband Kevin Knapp, who are expecting twins in June; her sons Hafeez Kawaja, and Melad Kawaja and wife Iris Kawaja. She is also survived by her grandchild Lily, her brothers Zahi Rafidi, Samir Rafidi, and Salem Akel.

Visitation will be held from 12pm to 1pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, 5311 Mercer St., Houston, TX 77005. Trisagion Prayers of Mercy and Funeral Service will follow at 1pm at St. George Orthodox Christian Church. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.

Muna will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. May her memory be eternal.
