Ms Janet Ruth Porter

On May 14, 1948 in Oakland, California a beautiful baby was born to Nellie Mae Bowdary and Alvin Porter. Her name was Janet Ruth Porter. She was baptized at New Loyalty Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Kashmere High School and later attended Franklin and Wilfred Beauty Academy. Janet also drove school buses for the North Forest Independent School District. She loved to cook, laugh, dance, and most of all she loved her kids, family and friends. Anyone that knew her, knew that she was full of life, and she loved, and had a relationship with the LORD. On April 18, 2018, God called His angle home, whom she was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Mae Porter; her father Alvin Porter; one brother, Edmound Samples; one sister, Helen Porter; one nephew/godson Robert Hubert Jr.; and one niece, Tijerina Samples. Janet is survived by her three sisters, Wilma Hubert, Versie Porter, and Corieda Baines; four brothers, James Samples, Elijah Samples, Willie Porter and Darnell Porter; and three step-siblings. She leaves to mourn three children, Kevin Alvin Porter (Sherida), Kimberly Nichelle Moore, and Keisha Lanell Porter; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, relatives and friends whom she loved dearly
