Mary Ann Mallard was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 30, 1955, to the late Essie B. Carr. She graduated from M. B. Smiley High School in Houston, Texas where she went off to college to Texas Southern University, and toward having a few medial jobs at a major daily paper, The Houston Chronicle. She stayed there a few years and went back into the private sector working in service jobs until relaxing at home with family and close friends. Mary known as "baby sister" enjoyed her time alone and with her children and granddaughter until God called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary left to cherish her memory, her daughter, Vanessa; her son, William; her granddaughter, Laila; two sisters, Hazel and Delores; two brothers, Clarence and Raymond; her sister-in-law, Melinda and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
