Mrs. Dequita Lychunn Pettis

Dequita Clark Pettis, affectionately known as "Quita" and "Nana" was born on August 29, 1969 in Houston, Texas. She was raised by her mother, Linda Jenkins and stepfather, the late Ronald Jenkins. Quita was united in holy matrimony to Michael Pettis on, December 23, 2000. Together they raised three beautiful children and are proud grandparents of four grandchildren. Quita attended school in the Houston Independent School District, starting out at Grissom Elementary, then Dick Dowling Middle School, and Robert E. Lee Senior High School. Because of her love to help others, she pursued a career in the medical field. She was loved and adored by the people she worked with as evident by their tremendous outpouring of love, kindness, and compassion during her illness. They described her as warm, positive, and uplifting. Quita accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with the Church Without Walls. She was currently attending the Fort Bend Church. Quita was a people person who met no strangers. She was full of life, kindhearted, compassionate and always had a smile on her face. She loved taking pictures; but if it was one that she felt didn’t do her justice, her favorite words were "delete it". She loved her family and would do anything for her children. Quita transitioned to heaven peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind to remember her life; her children: Damion Clark (Brittany), Ashley Cobb, C’Nae Pettis (Plasee III); her mother, Linda Jenkins; her sisters, L’Tanya Harris and Delencia McCoy (Ceasar); niece, London Harris, Tameeka, Taneeta, and Taurius Morgan; aunts, Helen Pierre, Orbdella McLamb (Charles), Cynthia Griffin (Johnnie); uncles, Odell Clark (Delores), Charles Clark; father-in-law, Leon Pettis (Lois); mother-in-laws, Willine Pettis and Mary Colquit; sister-in-laws, Renee Pettis, Kimberly Pettis Kenley; biological father, Donald Thomas; grandchildren, Danee and Bailee Clark, Paedyn and Pax Conway; precious daughters, Kaylan and Ce’Aira, and a host of cousins, family and friends.
