Richard Lee Washington was the only child born to the late Hattie Butler and Willis Lee Washington. He was born on May 7, 1957 in Austin, Texas. He was raised by his Grandparents Sam and Cordia Butler. During his childhood he attended the public schools in Austin, Texas and graduated Anderson High School in 1975. Richard left Austin to attend college at Prairie View A&M where he met and fell in love with his wife Carolyn Jean Lee. Richard and Carolyn enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Richard accepted Jesus Christ into his heart at an early age and later became a member at Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor D. Earl Lewis. He was employed at Priority Wire & Cable for over a decade until his retirement in 2013. Richard enjoyed sporting events of all types and playing dominoes with family and friends. He left a lasting impression on those he met. Richard Lee Washington, Sr. departed this life on Thursday, October 18, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents; Hattie Butler Washington and Willis Lee Washington and grandparents Sam and Cordia Butler. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife Carolyn; eldest son Aaron Washington (Stephanie Washington), son Trammel Lee (Nydra Lee), son Carnell Lee (Latreia Lee), son Richard Washington (Elizabeth Washington), son Marcus Washington (Rukiya Washington), and his only daughter Amisha Washington. He also leaves to cherish his memory fourteen grandchildren: John Jr., Breanna, Aaron Jr, Sha'Corah, Adrian, Ja'Koby, Ja'corian, Jaylen, Neiko, Blake, Avery , Hunter, Emerald and Rylee. Brother-in-laws Raymond, Ronald, Reginald and sister-in-law Beverly. Best friends Darrell Collins, Roscoe Barton, Jimmy Fisher, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
